description: Nine years ago, the moment I aimed my 35mm camera at this scene, I knew the resulting picture would make a great painting. To this day, it's one of my favorites, and even though I have hundreds of photos of Venice, this is the only one that's made it onto canvas. The painting is an original oil, 30"X20", on canvas glued to cradled hardboard (masonite). All materials used (including the glue) are archival and create a painting that is 1-1/8" deep. The painting is varnished to protect the paint surface and is unframed.
