description: This project was inspired by the way nature reacts to the seasons, when the trees die and the birds leave their nests. With an unnatural shift in nature temperature, many birds' natural seasonal clock may be skewed and many unfortunate ones get stuck behind to face the cold. Through painting the dead birds, I try to examine the unnatural twist in nature, where birds are left grounded in a natural environment where nature hybernates. There is a relation between the two that I'm exploring, where one element comes back to life, yet the birds remain dead, yet they too look like they're just sleeping awaiting spring.
It's a surreal contrast I'm trying to present by observing nature's laws that seem to corelate, and we see a bird that is not flying and we take it as a bad omen because of its unusual disposition, yet death is nature's way of renewal and rebirth and it becomes necessary.
In a parallel, the bird series also reflects an emotional decline based on a specific event. If the birds could speak, they wouldn't be able to because of the extreme shock of falling from a ultimate high. The paintings aim to corelate the impact of a falling bird to emotional trauma.
this painting will be shipped STRETCHED
