Description: "Yielding Spirit" is an encaustic (wax and pigment) on archival/acid free primed water color paper. The subject is a favorite model of mine with her hands pulling up the strands of her hair, casting her face more in shadow.
The handling is loose and more suggestive of space and time. Coloration is a mix of muted warm and cool values with a touch of danced stronger hues coming into the belt that drops low on her hips.
The image exposed through the opening in the mat measures approximately 16 1/2" x 12 1/2". "Yielding Spirit" is matted with Camel Linen on the outside and a Khaki mat on the inside. The mat measurement is 3 1/2" top and sides, with a bottom mat measuring 4 ". The bottom mat should always be larger for visual weight.
The frame choice is a WOW! It is a 3" wide front profile with a side projection of 7/8". Look closely because it has a pewter and soft black look close to the fine art piece and then the larger portion of the frame is gold with a gray/pewter brushed appearance. Unique and classically clean.
The overall measurement of "Yielding Spirit" is 29 1/2" x 25 1/2". There is a very tiny chip in the one corner of the frame which is taken into account with the price, but shouldn't be noticeable.
