This fine art piece is created on hand dyed archival / acid free hot press water color paper. I stretch all my papers to create a stable work surface and I prefer stapling for many reasons. The overall paper size measures approximately 15" x 11". The image exposed through the opening of the mat is 12" x 8 1/2".
This is a mixed media piece using colored pencil and paint techniques for a wonderfully cohesive and exciting result.
I matted this piece with camel linen outside and a deep rust linen inside mat with an 1/8" reveal. The mat measurement is 3 3/4" top and sides with a 4 1/4" bottom mat. The bottom mat should always be larger for visual weight. The frame molding I chose is a traditional gold with red undertones and veining, and a gentle wash of gray in the grooves. It has a front profile of 2 5/8" and a projection from the wall of approximately 1 1/2".
The overall measurement of this mixed-media Fine Art piece is 25" x 21". This frame is unusually heavy but very classic!
