Description: Watercolor on cold pressed paper. 18x24. Painting will be shipped rolled in a tube, unframed. This painting is created from several photos I had taken. The abandoned cabin is in the Stokes State Forest in Northern New Jersey. I added the red eyed owl and the red mushrooms to compliment the warm yellow/orange hues of the painting and add a touch of whimsy. I wanted to create this painting to portray the passing of time. From the weathered cabin with it's missing siding and beautiful worn wood(cedar or redwood) to the overgrown lawn scattered with wildflowers. The bending of the cellar beams from the weight of years and the now fallen pine tree. The night comes upon the scene and the owl is now the night watcher of what is known as "the passing of time".
