This is a substantial necklace and makes a great statement. It definitely has more weight to it. The focal stone is a bit heavier, but gorgeous and unique!
This necklace measures 21 1/2" around the neck. The necklace is composed of 6mm 10mm and 2 12mm black Jade (Black Jade is actually a Serpentine). I love to use this stone because of the rich luster. Toward the center are 5 4mm Black Jade rounds. The Brown hued rounds are 8mm Chinese Writing Stone. This stone has wonderful variations.
In the center are 3 10mm Golden Jades which again are a Serpentine round. I spaced all rounds with an espresso colored delica. I typically space my rounds with delicas so one can appreciate the beauty of each stone without them running together - my preference.
The focal stone is a creature on a throne on top of a longevity carving. The carving is 1/4" thick and measures 2 1/4" x 2" at the widest. The closure is a sterling silver hook and ring.
One side of the carving is more of a tobacco brown which I photographed the other side is lighter tan at the base to seinna brown at the top of the carving. So you can wear it with either side facing up.
The coloration I believe is the most accurate when the necklace is laying down on the plate. On the neck stand it is being hit by sun light. However, that would be the look you would receive by sun on that stone on the darker side.
Purchase any three of my jewelry items through March of 2009 and receive the 4th at 40% off.
