Description: "Silhouette" reveals a female in rich, raw umber, etched line work into an encaustic (pigment and wax) surface.
The piece is created on a primed archival watercolor paper, with the negative space dominating in a soft cool gray. Onto the cool gray, golden tones are applied and the textural form of the figure is developed. The encaustic method creates unique qualities to the surface that are exciting and different and always unexpected.
The overall frame size is 38" x 31" and has a nubby cream linen mat with a wood gold filet on the inside edge of the mat. The mat measures 5" top and sides a with a bottom mat measurement of 5 1/2". The bottom mat should be larger for visual weight.
The frame is a gold with a soft gray dusting. The frame measures 1 1/4" front profile, and has a side projection of 1 1/2" from the wall. I am happy to answer any question you might have.
