description: Balance Distinct" is a favorite series of abstractions created in 2006. I am always exploring abstractions, because it allows me to expand on my compositional elements and handling.
I am striving to learn something new everyday.
There are two in the small balanced series, but they can be purchased alone. However they do work well in a grouping if that is what you are looking for.
The painting is an oil on a 6" x 6" stretched canvas and this is also site framed. I do this often because I love the look. The painting sits within the opening of the frame and is not held in by the rabbet of the frame. I do all my own matting and framing.
The painting is done primarily with a palette knife and limited coloration. Two blurred lines run across the surface of this painting and in "Balance Composed".
The frame is a wide mottled dark brown/black with golden bronze veining. There is a gold bead on the outer edge of the frame and on the inner edge of the frame. The frame's front profile measures 2 7/8" and the overall size of "Balance Distinct" is approximately 12" x 12".
