Description: I've done a few of these with the same idea. What would a horse look like jumping or flying in a defined environment. It might be more about the box being four different sides of a painting of a horse jumping or flying. The contrast of the static geometry of the box with the organic movement of the horse creates a cool visual tension for me. My work is wood with mixed media (copper wire armature, burlap, canvas, hemp twine, and wire). The sculpture is fixed with a woodglue and dye mixture. It is then sealed with urethane. I ship the work in the same custom made crates than I build for shipping them to Nationally Juried Exhibits.
