description: Believe it or not I've seen my horses in positions similar to this as they get up from rolling in the sand. It is a fascinating position to me because they are such massive animals and they are in transition from being prone and vulnerable back to being able to flee or defend themselves. I relate to it because it is symbolic of where we are when we make decisions to change something from one place in our lives to another. The sculpture is made out of wood and mixed media (copper wire armature, burlap, canvas, wire and jute twine). The piece is then fixed with a mixture of woodglue and dye, sealed with urethane then shipped in the same custom-made crates I build to ship them to Nationally Juried Exhibits.
