Description: It seemed strange to me to think of a horse walking on stilts. I think maybe it says something about how man is always trying to improve what he's got. And of course the horse is trying his best to make it work. Most of all it was an interesting visual and engineering problem for me. Maybe its more about transition and change again. The sculpture is made of wood with mixed media (copper wire armature, burlap, canvas, wire and jute twine). It is fixed with a mixture of woodglue and dye, painted with acrylic paint where needed, then sealed with urethane. The piece will be shipped in a custom-made crate, the same crate that I build to ship my work to Nationally Juried Exhibits.
