description: This piece is mostly a discussion of combining the horse with the mechanical engineering of early flight. I have always been fascinated with 'contraptions' and the early days of inventions that have become the modern technologies we take for granted today. It may also be a visual questioning as to how two completely different things can come together to make something new and exciting. Possibilities and change. The sculpture is made out of wood with mixed media (copper wire armature, burlap, canvas, wire and jute twine). The piece is then fixed with a mixture of woodglue and dye, acrylic paint applied where needed, then sealed with shellac. It will be shipped in a custom-made crate, the same crate I build to ship my work to Nationally Juried Exhibits.
