Description: "Returning Dove" is a mixed-media fine art original, as all the pieces on this site are Bossert originals.
The exposed area within the mat measures 10 1/2" x 18" to reveal a young female figure dressed in white lying on a tapestry carpet.
The title comes from the upper left hand portion where a soft Dove image, shadowed in watercolor, fills the space and looms over the quiet figure.
This piece is created on archival watercolor paper, and is double matted 4" top and sides, and 4 1/2" bottom. The bottom mat should always be larger for visual weight. The coloration of the mats is meant to blend with the piece, choosing a soft brick coloration outside mat and a mottled gray/copper inside mat cut to reveal 1/8". The frame has an Asian influence and is red/brown with a gold undertone, front profile measures 1 3/16". The side projection of the frame measures 3/4" and is gold with a splattered effect in rich brown.
