Description: My daughter rode horses for many years. One day a young woman showed up wearing a beautiful long blue dress and performed a wonderful dressage routine. I got some great photos which really captured the motion. I have done many paintings from these photos and many people have responded enthusiastically.
The warm pinks, and golds reflect the warm feelings of the artist and that of the connection between horse and rider.
The gesture and motion was first captured with charcoal. Then watercolor washes were layed down, and on top of that pastel was applied. The layering of media and colors creates a very rich depth and vibrant color.
This painting has been accepted into many juried shows including a national juried show in Denver in 2006.
It is matted and framed in a beautiful rounded reddish gold frame and ready to hang.
