Description: "Amber Curtain" is a Mono-type or I can classify the piece as a mixed media.
"Amber Curtain" was created in 2003 with a series of 5 others using a similar linear standing figure. The fiure that you see standing in line is done in a dry point print process on an etching press that I have in my studio.
The paper is hand dyed and it is archival, acid free. I then printed the image I drew onto the prepared paper. After the print process, then I stretched and dried the paper for my next steps in the painting process of this piece.
I added acrylic washes in gray, white, back and rust. There are also French knots, a chop marking of my tree image, and a carved serpentine stone.
You will also notice the plate impressions from the print process. The image exposed through the opening of the mat is approximately 8 1/4" x 6 3/4".
I matted this piece with a thick black bevel board inside and a khaki linen outside mat. The matting measures 4" top and sides with a bottom mat of 4 1/2".
The frame is a warm silver with red underpaint for a wonderful presentation.
The front profile of the frame is 3/4" and projects from the wall 1 1/4".
the overall size of "Amber Curtain " framed is 18 1/4" x 16 1/4"
I attached another one from the series that I had on file that was SOLD for your viewing.
