In celebration of color, I paint. I believe colors are more important than just to identify an object. The simple beauty of brilliant colors flowing around and into each other is mesmerizing. Each panel has color combinations and designs that are unique to each one. I paint on 100% cotton using high quality brilliant acrylics. The panels are viewed at their fullest when they are bathed in light. You can have fun with different colored lights for different effects. The folded panels are dimensional and have depth. Create shadows within the panel by side lighting. I fold a lot of the panels with interesting creases. Some panels are painted on thin cotton that allows a shimmer material underneath to shine through the colors. When light is shined on them, it creates interesting moving light underneath with a deeper mesmerizing effect. In addition to rectangles, squares, round and oval frames, I like to use irregular shaped frames. I make them myself using wood and aluminum. After framing, I seal the panels with a clear latex spray to protect the painted fabric, which wraps around the edge. The backs of the framed panels are completely finished with another piece of white fabric and trim and ready to hang in your home or office.
