Description: Acrylic Painting on stretched canvas. I have always wanted to do a painting of a large sailing ship. I found a couple of reference illustration to work from. These were the old technical drawings with all of the labels and names for the various sails. The sails are tattered and shredded with areas of contrasting reflected white for a clean, clear, blue and white color scheme. The water in the foreground gently rolls onto the smooth shore creating a sense of tranquility.
