Description: This painting was started as a demonstration at the San Diego County Fair. I finished it at home. I find that the sunflower is one of the most beautiful flowers and tried to capture that beauty in watercolor. It is painted on Claybord, which is a hard surface coated with clay. The benefit of this surface is that it does not need to be covered by plexiglass and, unlike watercolor on paper, can be framed in beautiful wooden frame. The surface is sprayed with a fixative which protects it from the outside environment. It is framed in a wide gold frame. The framed size measures 23"x27" and is ready for hanging.
