Chrystel Deschene is a self-taught artist from the Bas-St-Laurent (Lower Saint-Lawrence region). The desire to transform all that she touches appears early in her childhood, an innate characteristic as one could say. With a philosophical nature, each day is an occasion to perfect her art, to deepen her being... The love and the respect of people are her daily inspirations.
Oil is her main medium but she sometimes adds descrete touches of acrylic to her paintings. She paints mainly symbols and characters. Her eye and her brushes are irresistibly attracted by bright colors, which according to her, nourish her. Unceasingly trying to communicate to the observer the mysteries which surround us, she exposes the dimensions of the imagination.
