Description: "Tapestry as Drape" is a Mono-type or I can classify the piece as a mixed media.
"Tapestry as Drape" was created in 2003 with a series of 5 others (including "Amber Curtain" which is on Boundless Gallery) using a similar linear standing figure. The figure that you see standing in line, I created in a dry point print process on an etching press that I have in my studio.
The paper is hand dyed and it is archival, acid free. I then printed the image I drew and painted onto the prepared paper. After the print process, then I stretched and dried the paper for my next steps in the painting process of this piece.
I added acrylic paint in cool gray, Indian Red, brown/back and accents of teal. There are also French knots, and stitching with linen cord. Also included is a great double dragon carved stone in Serpentine that is stithed in place.
The image exposed through the opening of the mat is approximately 9" x 6 1/2".
I matted this piece with a cream outside mat and an 8 ply Etruscan bronze inside mat. The matting measures 4 1/4" top and sides with a bottom mat of 4 3/4".
This piece comes unframed. The mat is basically a presentation mat and can be used or redone to your decor. The overall size of the mat is 18" x 15"
"Amber Curtain" and "Tapestry as Drape" are the only two from this series left availabe for sale
I attached another one from the series that I had on file that was SOLD for your viewing.
