description: In the footsteps of Jasper Johns, as described by David James, "For Which It Stands" continues to echo our desire for freedom. This painting was one of my most difficult because it involved a lot of measurements. I placed each piece of sculpturing down separately. The result is a precise dimensional representation of the US flag recreated boldly after 9/11 to proclaim what our country really stands for. The sculpturing gives a three dimensional appearance to this work and so it becomes a double medium. "For Which It Stands" is also available in prints.
