description: Mary’s hand built sage porcelain cups are totally functional for tea, coffee or any warm or cool drink. Clear-glazed on the inside, each has an unglazed exterior. All colors and patterns are in the clay itself. Using various colors of moist porcelain, large sheets of clay “fabric” are rolled out. One-of-a-kind patterns emerge as the artist marbles, stencils and inlays different colors. Hand construction is done much like sewing: shapes are cut out and pieced together, and the flat surface becomes dimensional. The porcelain is fired to over 2300 degrees, making it extremely durable. These handmade items may vary from pictured items, but will be similar. Please let us choose for you.
