Description: Monuments Along a Mountain Path - 山進路に付いた記念碑
Oil on Unstretched Canvas
There were all different kinds of clouds out when this long weekend came. I waited around a bit and watched them, and eventually convinced myself that it wouldn`t rain on me if I went outside for a few hours. The weather was nice enough for the 1st hour and I had a really good start to this picture, then it rained. I had to give up and go home, but I managed to go back and finish this 2 days later when the weather cleared up. The first day was all around very unpleasant, but this next day was nearly ideal. It smelt very strongly of pine trees. The building to the left is a part of Tentokuji (temple). the path leading up the right goes up around the middle of the mountains (visible in the background to the left).
The colors are deep and glossy. There is a slight bit of texture to the surface - from the brush strokes. I buy the most light resistent/ fade resistant paints, so this should keep it's quality. You would need a frame to set this in before hanging.
This will ship flat in a large padded weather-proof envelope .
