Description: Mountain, Temple and Valley View - 山、お寺、谷の景色
Oil on Unstretched Canvas
I went back up to this temple (Tentokuji), to fix a painting that I couldn't finish - due to wind and rain. This was a perfect day, and a really nice setting; I already had a good start to my first painting, so I was able to paint this other one before it got dark out. In the valley below is a "suggestion" of the city: Suzaka, where I live now. The sun was going down, so the monuments in the foreground are casting long shadows. There was another temple building behind me () and a windy path/ staircase decends down past the roof of the lowermost building.
The colors in the foreground have a bit more texture in the paint as well as a bit more gloss. I buy the most light resistent/ fade resistant paints, so this should keep it's quality.
This will ship flat in a large padded weather-proof envelope .
