The story here is the same as "The View Beyond Takayama's Big Bridge, in Fall - 高山村、大橋から見て景色 - 秋" : I got out from work about 2 hours early on this nice warm Fall day. A day or 2 previous a girl I'd been talking to said that if I really liked to paint outside, I really should go up to Takayam village to paint the changing leaves there. Apparently people travel from far off to see it. I had to ride my big up a big long hill (Takayama means high mountain in Japanese) for about 45 minutes to get here. The day was dwindling, and I didn't know of any better spots, but I remember being here a month or so before and really loving it. It was a bit too soon for really good fall leaves, but with some slight exaggeration of the colors that were there, I managed to get a nice Autumn landscape.
The difference here is that the sun was now well on it's way to setting, and it was getting continuously colder that high up. A group of 3 elementary school girls walked by just as I was starting this picture, and they stayed talking about it/ and me for a good 45 minutes or so. At the peak of the "noise" there were 16 elementary school students standing in a semi circle behind me, watching me paint. I had to stop for around 5 minutes to sign autographs for the ones who had been watching the longest/ the ones who asked. I thought that was [see more]

I thought that was a little funny, but as the sky got darker and darker I really had to get back to painting everything as quickly as I could manage. Getting all that way up that hill with all that paint and water is not something I want to do terribly often.
----R--I buy the most light resistant/ fade resistant paints, so this should keep it's quality. All you need to do is prop it up somewhere safe, or fit it in a frame and hang it up.　All of my pictures are signed and dated on the back, with a small identifying “signature-mark” on the front.
