I would like to describe most of my art work as having a “found-object” or old photograph feel to it. My approach to my work is all about the image and not as much about the surface it is drawn/painted on. Most of my artwork is drawn or painted on scrap, cut, or torn paper and this is very much intentional. I have gone so far as to take drawings and leave them outside for days in the weather and even drive over them with my car. Thus, my work may have evidence of the process in the paper, but the image is what is important to me. Sometimes my works, being on paper, have experienced some damage due to shipping and hauling to and from shows, or they’re just very old and are in need of preservation. So, it is difficult to experience the scope of my work online because you can only see the flattened image, cropped with perfect edges. I am currently a new mom and plan to expand our family, so I have not found time to re-shoot new photos or different angles of the hundreds of pieces I have. If you are interested in this piece, please contact me via the message board and I can pull it from secure storage to further describe it to you one on one (especially the size – all of my listed sizes are from memory). This message has been copied and pasted under most of my pieces so I will add a few specifics below about this particular piece.
Mixed Up: Charcoal on paper. Size is approximate (from memory). If actual size is needed, please contact me through the message [see more]
