description: This original watercolour painting was inspired by a cool guy in New York, playing a saxaphone on a park bench, where you catch the ferry to the Statue of Liberty. It was from my trip to New York City, with 3 friends, May 2001. This guy was great and I listened for a bit then gave him a good tip. I had to catch up with my friends afterwards as they had gone far ahead of me.
I did this painting and it won an award of excellence in the PineRidge Annual Juried Art Exhibition in 2002.
The painting is in professional grade Windsor Newton watercolour, on Strathmore illustration board, and is professionally framed by Michael's. There is a tape mark on the paper where the label for the juried show was stuck long ago.
I hung this painting on my wall for a long time, not sure if I wanted to sell it.
It has been photographed behind glass so there are some hazy and light glare on the photo. I have one close up here so you can see it better, without glare, in accurate colour. It has a black core white outside mat with one scored line around it and is framed in a black matte stained wood frame. The painting is signed and dated.
This painting will need to be very well packed due to the glass. Therefore, shipping needs to be higher as well. It is not very heavy however.
The actual painting is 8 1/2" x 14 1/2" and the framed dimensions are noted as well.
