My artwork is a variety of techniques developed over the years from a basic style that could best be described as finger painting. I don't use paint brushes. The painting tools I use are more like mixing bowls. dustpans, and flat edged cardboard. I like to give my paintings a flowing feel with shades and gradations of colors and fine detail that flows across the canvas. I most like creating large and huge paintings.
All my works are signed and dated J D Owen Artworks. I sign on the back of the canvas so as not to give an orientation direction to the piece. I usually don't name a piece because each person sees his own interpretation and since my paintings are made to be hung in any and all orientations a name for one orientation won't fit the others anyway.
