Description: This is a a Giclée print on canvas of a digital collage, created out of more than 50 separate photographs. It has the feel of a Victorian flower wreath, with a crushed black velvet background and a heavy gilt frame (all part of the collage and printed on the canvas). Lilies, hydrangea, black-eyed Susan, meadow sweet, and Indian paint brush make a lovely summer flower wreath. Intricate details are visible, including tiny insects on the flowers. The colors are a vibrant, summery mix of golds, burnt orange, sun yellow and deep red.
The image is printed on specially prepared canvas with high quality Giclée inks and the canvas is then stretched by the artist on quality wooden stretchers. The piece is ready to hang as is, no framing required, as the gilded “frame” extends onto the sides of the finished piece. The result is an interesting trompe l'oeil effect, as if the canvas were in fact already framed.
Hang it on two small nails, set parallel or perpendicular to the nearest wall edge, and the canvas will never shift like conventionally framed art, yet it is easy to remove and replace with another canvas for a fresh look. The canvas is signed by the artist in gilt oil paint in the corner of the black velvet background. (Not shown in photograph.) All canvases are carefully padded and packed for protection and are shipped with a Boundless Gallery Certificate of Authenticity.
