Description: This acrylic on canvas is part of my "Backyard Garden" series started this year, 2007. I create my paintings from memories of places visited and lived. My mother was an avid Oregon gardener whose greatest joy in life was working in her garden and flowerbeds. Her enthusiasm filtered into my art and my own garden. Before I begin a painting, I see the basic shapes and colors. Putting all the forms together and solving the compositional problems is the joy of painting. This particular piece comes out of my tropical memories of fresh flowers, crisp blooms with maybe a waterfall in the back to keeping it all, fresh. I try to leave much to the viewer's imagination. This is warm strong painting with a bright orange flower as the main subject and mysteries to be discovered elsewhere. The piece is painted on a regular 24x30 canvas and needs to be framed. I will be shipped unframed
