Description: This acrylic on canvas is part of my Lucid Landscape "Backyard Garden" series started this year, 2007. I create my paintings from memories of places visited and lived. My mother was an avid Oregon gardener whose greatest joy in life was working in her garden and flowerbeds. Her enthusiasm filtered into my art and my own garden. Before I begin a painting, I see the basic shapes and colors. Putting all the forms together and solving the compositional problems is the joy of painting. This painting is pure fun and represents the energy, motion and lightheartedness of a bouquet of flowers. This is a strong compositional piece that contains intense oranges and greens and lively shapes. This painting is a 24x30 inch gallery wrapped canvas, (the images continue on the sides) and does not require framing.
