Description: We were visiting a small town near Patzcuaro, Mexico, wandering through the market area. This young lady was watching us from the back of a store selling children's toys.
I was photographing at random. hoping for interesting material for future paintings. Upon examining the images later, I liked her quiet slightly puzzled look.
This small 10 x 8 inch painting was developed as a donation for a local non-profit's silent auction. I wanted something that would stand out yet have wide appeal. Her waif like appearance seemed appropriate.
I chose Sofia as her name. I never knew her real name.
10 x 8 inches. Oil on canvas. Unframed with painted edges. Wired for hanging.
