Linda is a self taught artist and works in acrylics, gouache, watercolors, mixed media, photography and pencil drawings, painting contemporary modern abstracts, landscapes and still lifes. Her art reflects her passion for life with a vibrant use of color.
Linda has been drawing all of her life but only recently picked up a brush and began painting. She attributes her knowledge and success in painting to her daughter-in-law, Melissa, granddaughter to the famous artist, Pat Ford; her son, James, an artist and musician; her daughter, Lea Anne, an artist and race car driver; Ken Callaway, teacher and artist; and, to her dear friend, Gerard, a musician and co teacher, her “greatest critic and supporter” of her artwork!
Linda is a member of EBSQ, Carrollton Arts Guild, and Douglasville Arts Guild. She has recently shown in the Douglasville Library Art Guild Christmas Show, Fairfield Plantation Art Show2006 and 2007, Arts Clayton "Arte Gras" Art Show, Taste of Douglasville Art Show 2207, Lithia Springs Library Mural, Douglas County Courthouse October, 2007, Art Show, Douglas County Courthouse November, 2007, Art Show, Lithia Springs Library October 2007 Art Show, and was recently featured in the Douglas County Sentinel Feature Article for August and October, 2007. Linda was also recently commissed for a painting by the Emory Winship Cancer Center in Atlanta, Georgia and recently completed a book cover for the author of the book "Garrotte".
Linda is also a single parent and breast cancer survivor, which she believes is all the more reason to be “doing what she loves doing most of all, painting”.
