Born in August of 1986, I really started my artistry at the age of three by drawing crayon murals of mermaids on my bedroom walls while my parents slept. This is also when I began my life-long affair with creating singular fashion designs. Since, my love for all facets of the art world has increased exponentially.
In earlier schooling, I acquired a taste for music and learned to play the clarinet. Later, I taught myself to play the flute (and still like to compose music for such). Then in high school, I explored various media in Advanced Placement art classes, including: linoleum prints, glass etchings, mosaics, copper tooling, batik, graphite, ink, charcoal, pastel, oil, acrylic, watercolor, tempera, collage, montage, graphic design, sculptures of clay and wire, and amateur photography.
After I was commissioned to design the entire paper program for my school's annual holiday choral presentation in eleventh grade, the school honorably asked me to devise many similar works: the following year's holiday program, the illustrations for a homecoming program, my graduation program, the T-shirts for my graduation celebration, and the desk front for our school television news show. Several of my illustrations and poems appeared in the school's creative writing Anthology; my poem "Frozen Dream" was selected as the title and theme for the publication.
During school, I also studied (as well as developed an intense love for) Architecture, Literature, Psychology, French language and culture--all of which I have a propensity to incorporate into my art when applicable. My techniques range from Cubism and rogue Expressionism to Realism; from abstract fantasies to traditional portraiture. Most of my pieces, however, usually fluctuate somewhere in between.
As generations of my family have operated their own restaurants, I have adored culinary art throughout my life. More recently, my artistic nature has led me to execute delicious edibles that are aesthetically beautiful as well. And in early 2007, I began working as a freelance model in Georgia. Modeling allows me great satisfaction, as it does not only help me develop my insight into fashion design, but now I can actually place myself in great works of art instead of merely conceiving them.
Currently, one of my favorite skills remains calligraphy/fonts and the ability to interweave my unique lettering into any shape or picture. I have relocated back to West Virginia, where I enjoy reading (and writing my own) poetry and short stories, beside progressing artistically. I love anything to do with the paranormal or horror. I relish in sharing my humorous and eccentric personality among my cherished friends, relatives, and animals in my reprieves from caring for my beloved 18-month-old daughter. [
