Not too long ago I suffered a stroke, it left my left side weakened, and took he vision from my right eye. "Why me?" I asked myself. "I'm an artist, I need my eyes to see, to paint, to express myself!"
What I should have really asked myself was...."'Why not me?" Why was I so unique? The fact is that strokes can happen to anyone....nobody is immune.
BUT I still had one good eye and my desire to paint was still with me. I developed some "tricks" that allowed me to see my canvas, changing the way I worked. It took a while to regain, most of my strength and to retrain my minds eye.
I am living proof (like so very many others-I'm not unique in this way either) that you never stop pursuing your passion and never stop doing what you were intended to do....even if you have to do it in a different way!

My work has been classifed as designed realism and I've been influenced by wonderful artists and illustrators from Erte to Arbe to Oleg to Nagle, from Wysocki to Rockwell for my fine art and from Gibson to Rand to Schwartz for my illustrations (and far too many more to add to these lists).
Like some other artists I work in several styles: Americana fine folk art, elegant fashion contemporary/art deco, inspiring illustrations and collages that utilize my skills from costume design to wherever else my imagination takes me.
The conception of my ideas will often make the decision of the media I use, which can be from oil and acrylic, to watercolor and pen and ink.
The project I like best is always "the one I'm working on at the moment!"
Quite a bit of my art is commercially licensed....with ArtVisions..

My illustrations have been published in children's literature, posters, greeting cards. A number of these paintings will be going to press by a commercial print publisher this summer.
Some of the originals are listed and are available for sale right here on boundless! [
