As a young girl, I dreamed of becoming an artist. I began taking oil painting classes as early as junior high school and quickly fell in love with texture and vibrant colors. My earliest influence was Vincent Van Gogh and his work in The Poet's Garden III and A Road at Saint-Remy with Female Figure, greatly influenced my approach to painting. Hi Trisha,I like your style of painting. I did use a palette knife for some of my work, but not for the whole painting. It does make a great impact if you use the paint impasto for your work. I love New York traffic. Your painting i mean, and not the actual traffic:)

Welcome, your pieces are very nice. I use a palette knife for a few aspects in my oil paintings, but not in it's entirety. It's neat that you do!

You are right; pallet knife painting is not easy - good work. I especially like Camelia. A close-up view of an object can be very interesting. If you get a chance, visit my site and look at "Wood Duck- reflections." It is with a pallet knife - a close up of a Wood Duck's colorful head.
