When I was three, my grandmother gave me paper and masking tape to make things. I began making toy airplanes, boats, cars, and soldiers. Later on, I began drawing Comic Book Heroes and building car and airplane models. I love creating interesting objects. It's all I've ever done. I studied art at the University of Central Florida. I received my BFA in Painting and Drawing. I then received my MFA in Sculpture at Florida State University. During my Undergraduate studies my primary focus was classical studies of the human figure through drawing and painting. In Graduate School I still dealt primarily with the human figure, but I began to explore abstraction and my work became more expressive. Upon graduation I began working as a professional artist/sculptor. It was exciting and challenging, but after a few years I realized I really missed doing my own work!! I grew up around horses, and I currently own two. Horses have always held an interesting, mythical place for me in my life and mind. I've had good and bad experiences with them, mostly good. For me the horse is a mysterious and beautiful vehicle of expression. Their iconic place in history both as beast of burden and magnificent companion give them both poetic and spiritual significance.
