I studied architecture at the University of Houston and at the University of Kansas, and have been in the profession for the past nine years. My artwork has been greatly influenced by my architecture background. The design of three dimensional space- spatial depth, light vs. shadow, texture & color are all very much a part of my process.
Although I can get nowhere close to adequately expressing it, my artwork also comes out of a love for truth and a love for the things of God. The Lord has been so kind to me, and this is one way that I can express my gratitude
Typically, in my work, I get an idea about a specific scripture or truth and build on that idea into a three dimensional piece. Then, I use many thin acrylic paint layers to produce an additional depth of color and texture.
Thanks for taking a look around. Feel free to drop me a note if you have any comments or questions. Even if you don't want to buy a painting, it would be great to hear from you! Thanks again, David Grimes
