I was culturally deprived and this was the first time that I had gone to a museum. I was fascinated by Kadinsky's and Piccaso's work. I was quite naive about art and I exclaimed to my future wife that I thought I could paint like some of the artists that I saw that day. She called my bluff and bought me a water color set. It has been a 14 years since I started painting and I still enjoy picking up the brush and sitting in front of a blank canvas and thinking about the possibilities of what will take shape.
