Profile
I am C.E. Harrison, a Georgia contemporary artist living in the country, surrounded by my many chickens, turkeys and geese - thus the nickname "MamaHen". The animals give me a lot of inspiration, but I also rely on my southern heritage and the many stories I grew up listening to, to come up with my creations.
Most of my paintings are created on found objects, many times with a story behind them. While many of my works can be described as southern folk art, I am constantly changing and experimenting with new techniques.
On a personal note, I have been happily married for 17 years and have 1 son, 2 dogs, 2 geese, 2 turkeys, and over 100 chickens. I live in the country in the state of Georgia. I was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 1993, and have since changed my focus in life to becoming a full time artist.
