Even as a little girl, I loved to draw and paint. I didn't have store-bought coloring books; I made my own. My public school art teacher recognized my talent and convinced my apprehensive parents to send me to a special high school in Brooklyn, N.Y., which had an extensive art program. After graduating, I worked as a fashion illustrator in New York City. I attended college when I was in my 40's and graduated cum laude with A BA Degree in Fine Art. I am also a graduate of the New York School of Interior Design and attended oil painting classes at the Art Students League.
Although I expanded to oil and acrylics, my first love was painting in watercolors. A full-time artist, I paint in a traditional manner, focusing on landscapes, seascapes, cityscapes, florals and still lifes. Sometimes I paint from imagination. I do not want to get locked in to any one style of painting. I want to be free to paint what I want in a manner which I find suitable at the time of that painting. There are two elements that are recognizable in my work. One is the bold, brilliant and beautiful hues with which I create my paintings and the other is the feeling of tranquility which seems to come across in my work.
My paintings have been accepted into many juried shows on local, statewide, national and international levels, sometimes receiving awards. I have had many one person shows at local, as well as out of state, galleries. My work can also be seen in public buildings throughout the county. Many of my paintings are in private collections throughout the United States and have been published in many art magazines, as well as on corporate calendars. I am listed in Who's Who in America and the American Registry of Outstanding Professionals.
I am a past president and member of many art associations. [
