I live with my beautiful animals, Horus the cat and Dolly the dog. I have two grown sons. Eventually, I figured out I replaced my sons with the animals soon after they left home. The animals are usually very close when I'm painting. I said for many years, "when my sons are grown I will paint", and the day has come.

Allow me to introduce myself...
I live with my beautiful animals, Horus the cat and Dolly the dog. I have two grown sons. Eventually, I figured out I replaced my sons with the animals soon after they left home. The animals are usually very close when I'm painting. I said for many years, "when my sons are grown I will paint", and the day has come.
My artwork is born when I am moved in my spirit to paint. I'm a "learn as you go" artist. Sometimes I may have a vision; sometimes, I begin to play in the paint, mixing different colors, techniques and materials. There have been several times I thought I played too long and ruined the painting. But to my surprise, something wonderful was created. When I really get excited, I may return to the painting several times that day just to enjoy, ponder and gaze in utter amazement!
As I begin to paint there is also a process of inner healing going on throughout my body, mind and spirit. Each color speaks to me on a different level. When this healing or transformation is complete, so is the painting.
There are times when the animals have contributed to my paintings, or some other fragments of my surroundings, have found their way into the painting as well. I am now accepting there is no such thing as perfection in my life or my artwork. Just allowing what is and knowing it is perfect just the way it is, is part of my healing.
As we see and play in color, it touches our soul in places we may not have visited before, or, for a very long time. May the colors in my paintings assist in healing your soul too!
