I am an artist with little formal art training and a life-long passion and fascination with exploring art as an expression of Self. My educational background is actually in the sciences. I have a BS in Geology, then a BS in Nursing and MS in Psychiatric Nursing. I believe my interest in the earth and later my Jungian psychiatric training have deeply influenced my relationship with the clay.
In the role of Art Therapist, I learned that art transcends words and is a wonderful healing tool. It is the ultimate manifestation of the Self. I am currently an Independent Consultant with Arbonne International, and I look forward to nothing more than going out into the studio and getting my hands into the clay. Art is essential to maintaining my own mental and spiritual health. I do it as much for myself as for anyone else, so there is a whole lot of “me” in every piece.
I live in Twin Falls, Idaho, with my husband and five special cats. The loss of a few of our delightful furry angels led me on a new adventure in ceramics. I decided in 2002 to begin creating memorials in clay by actually incorporating their ashes into the clay and/or the glaze, depending on the piece. After some careful testing, the results have been quite successful. This unusual tribute has received growing interest in the local community, and I have begun to receive requests from others to do memorials for their animals. PLEASE CONTACT ME if you are interested in more information about these custom ceramic pet memorials.
