A long time ago, for me, artwork was work. I thought of it as work and it was. Striving to create something recognizable, and untimately in demand. That was long ago, art is now relaxation, therapy, fun. While sculpting, painting, sketching, and cartooning, time flies, hours fly by unnoticed. Background eclectic music plays as each takes shape, whether it be outdoors, a basement, or the living room. Works in demand in many galleries both physical and online make the hours necessary, and there is nothing I would rather do. Nature begs to be recreated in wire sculpture and on the canvas. I find myself pulling over to take pictures on any drive, finding unique clouds or a tree.
Sunsets and views of broad valleys barely make it home to be downloaded and I'm priming a canvas, rushing to produce the image.

I checked out the fine Art site. Very nice and I like the option to have the art work framed and shipped by them, although I am not too sure Tom will allow his files out for someone else to print. We'll see. Have you had any luck selling yet on this site and have you seen any of your work printed by them? I look forward to hearing back from you and wish you luck with Boundless Gallery. | | | | Tom Watson said: Mark, I saw your posting on the message board about galleries vs. online sales. We are new to Boundless and to date have made no sales. I was wondering if you have had any luck with other online sites and if you would share that information with me. We also are in Upstate NY enjoying a beautiful early Spring. Your wire tree sculptures are incredible. You wouldn't by any chance have a sculpture that would depict the Celtic Tree of Life would you? I just feel that I am submerged in his personality - I have lost me except for my art which he doesn't particularly like...but thanks for the advice. | | | | Takeyce Walter said: Thanks, Mark. | | | | Vickie Marsango said: Mark,It is amazing all the different styles and techniques that artist's use to create images. When I am teaching classes, I enjoy seeing each student's end result, as they are all so different even with same assignment. I am an artist that does not want to reflect only one style. I would be very bored with creating paintings/mixed media with the same colors, styles, and techniques. I am always looking for a new way to express myself, and yet hang on to what I have learned and developed already. I noticed that another artist commented on "light source". It is a wonderful element in any work. When doing abstracts it doesn't always have to be "correct" and always enhances the work in realism as well. It adds much contrast, movement, and interest somehow. Keep up the good work. You have a gift coming off your fingertips!
