Filomena de Andrade Booth was born in Portugal but has lived and worked in the United States since she was a young child. At an early age, she developed a fascination with color, texture and design. As fortune would have it, she eventually became a high school art teacher, where she was able to inspire many young artists.
Between 1987 and 1992, Filomena became widely recognized throughout the Tampa Bay area as a custom design artist for the interior design market. Her original work may be found in many prestigious homes, offices, hotels and corporations throughout the state of Florida. She has extensive experience working closely with members of the design industry and is able to meet their original art needs.
In 2003, she was awarded both the Florida Watercolor Society's American Artist Magazine Award and the International Acrylic Painters Association Savoir-Faire Award.
Filomena specializes in original contemporary Abstract Expressionist painting. She is proficient in a wide variety of media and and enjoys exploring various experimental techniques which she incorporates into her unique paintings.
In 2004, Filomena made her move to the Dallas-Ft. Worth area, where she currently resides with her husband and two cats.
