A quote from Marianne Williamson I discovered recently best sums up how I feel about my art and why I enjoy making art. A quote from Marianne Williamson I discovered recently best sums up how I feel about my art and why I enjoy making art. "What a Beethoven, Shakespeare, or Picasso has done is not create something, so much as they have accessed that place within themselves from which they could express that which has been created by God. Their genius then, is actually an expression and not a creation. That's why great art strikes us with the shock of recognition, the wish that we had said that. The soul thrills at the reminder of what they already know."
This statement is resonated with my soul, it articulated how I felt for years and was never able to express with words. I do not create art, so much as art flows through me. For this reason I have never felt that it is important to say clever things about my art as is so often encouraged by the art world today. I am an artist to bring peace and joy to myself and others.
I live and work in Charlotte, NC. I graduated from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte with Bachelor of Arts in Art. I have been painting for 10 years. [
