I started working with wood many years ago when I use to make my own wooden bows, ( bows and arrows) when some one asked me to make them a wooden spoon that wouldn't break, I knew that the wood I made my bows out of would be strong and tough enough to stand the everyday use and abuse that wooden kitchen utensils experience. That wood is Osage Orange (hedge)
The first wooden utensils that I made were simple in design and form. People began asking for them. One kitchen utensil design lead to another and now I have over 20 original designs and still adding more.
My line of Osage Orange kitchen utensils make great gifts for thoughs that are hard to buy for, at Christmas and birhtdays.
My wooden utensils are made to last a life time (with just a little care). I have done many tests on my wooden utensils to see how they stand up to being used on a daily basis. One test that you might find very interesting is: I took an Osage spoon and put it in boiling water and left it there for 3 days ( yes you heard right, 3 days) all I did was add water and boiled some more. At the end of 3 days the spoon was ( to my surprise) EXACTLY the same as when I put it in, the only thing that changed was the color (it was darker). it did not crack or get fuzzy. Try that with your wooden spoons and see what happens. My utensils Never get fuzzy, if they ever do, send it back to me and I'll send you another one free of charge, and I'll even pay for the shipping, can't get any better than that. That spoon that I did the test with will be on here shortly for everyone to see.
My utensils come with the best guarantee there is:(under normal use) I will replace it as long as you follow the simple care instructions that come with your wooden utensil, its that simple. Where will you find that kind of a product and guarantee.
In The description part of each item I share with you the time it takes to make each utensil; I want you to see the time involved . They are not massed produced, (I make every one from beginning to end) and are very labor intesive to make. There is over 22 separate steps in each utensil. Great care is taken with each step of the process, to insure the end quality of the finished product. please note, the times listed with each utensil does not include the time spent finding the osage trees, harvesting them, having them cut into lumber, storing and drying them, and designing them.
If you have a wooden utensil that your grandmother had and can't find another one like it, and would like me to duplicate it, I can do that, and if I add that design to my product line, you'll get it free of charge as my way of saying thanks. The pictures don't do them justice. Until you hold one in your hand, then you'll see the difference.
Shipping is only 5.00 dollars anywhere in the United States, no matter how many kitchen utensils you order. Orders outside the US are whatever the rate for that country is Thanks and enjoy cooking with your kitchen utensils, from the Osage Tree!!! [
