Sally Jo is an emerging North Carolina artist whose gestural style brings out the simplistic beauty in her subjects. She is the granddaughter of the late watercolor artist, Charles Patterson Logan. Sally Jo holds a BFA in Art Education with a concentration in Painting and Drawing from East Carolina University's School of Art and College of Education. Before attending ECU, she studied under artists Mary Louise Bannerman and Mark A. Bannerman for 14 years. Her style is greatly influenced by Mr. Bannerman’s use of color and line. The Bannerman’s guidance led to her decision to become an art teacher and ultimately an artist.
