So far our experience has been very negative, but I am rating this a 'neutral' because to date, I can find no actual fault with the artist or with BoundlessGallery. Our picture was damaged in transit, is on its way to the artist (or perhaps already there) and we are up in the air as to what is going to happen next. Repair and re-send? Refund? And in what time frame? We just do not know. It is irksome in the extreme that anyone would walk all over a package (there was reportedly a footprint on the package) but I am sure it was someone at FedEx. Still, it does give us second thoughts about buying art that needs to be shipped, as opposed to visiting a local gallery.jgrantJan-24-08

This buying experience was a bit disappointing. The shipping time took longer than stated. When I received the painting, the packaging wasn't the best and the picture was slightly damaged. In addition, the painting had recently been painted (and the piece was not advertised as "commissioned") and as a result, the plastic wrapping was stuck to the painting, which peeled off after removal. The painting was advertised as "gallery wrapped" but the paint did not extend all around the edges. And the painting was not square and loosely stretched across the stretcher bars. BoundlessGallery was fabulous in their customer care. Contempo Gallery refunded a portion of the sale. I'm not sure if the poor quality and shipment of this painting is an artist issue or a gallery issue? But in fairness, the gallery was quick to respond to my complaint through BoundlessGallery. Do not buy from Contempo! 6 weeks after purchase and still no painting! They even claimed to have shipped it without shipping the item. Fortunately, Boundless Gallery worked hard to find another piece. Buyer beware!
Contempo Gallery's Response: Buyer was warned of delay and was offered a full refund at any time. We even offered painting free of charge as token of good faith. We believe all efforts were exhausted to appease this buyer.
