Hello, I'm J D Owen, glad you stopped by to visit...Let me tell you a little about myself.......Half a lifetime ago my sister upgraded her art set. Seeing artistic potential in me, she gave me her old paint brushes and half-empty tubes of paint. With that box full of toys for starters and a couple of blank canvases I was hooked, discovering an awesome avenue for creative adventures...I made a lot of paintings and found that abstracts are fun and my favorite style. After about 10 years passed I was feeling creatively blocked and a friend suggested I should try just playing with the paint. Become that little boy playing with finger paints again, pour on a lot of different colors of paint, make a big mess, get dirty, splash paint outside the (mental) boxes. So I placed a canvas flat on a table and started pouring on lots of paint and just started experimenting and making a big beautiful mess with it. That first experience launched me on a path of discovery and exploration that continues to this day. Now, years later, my art has blossomed into a variety of avenues stemming from those basic techniques. Every new painting is still a learning experience and the quality is steadily increasing with the experience gained.
In the last year I have started exploring another area of artistic creation. I start with one of my original paintings, then scan it into my computer and manipulate it with photo editing software. This gives me the tools to turn an already beautiful painting into awesome works of art.
All of my prints are made from digital manipulation of my original paintings.
